Military Healthcare Behavioral Health Summit March 26-28, 2012, Washington, DC Metro Area
The mental and behavioral health of today’s service members is a top priority for the DoD. Both active duty and veterans are dealing with behavioral health issues such as PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder), anxiety, depression, substance abuse and more. The DoD is implementing effective methods and programs geared to improve their resilience, recovery and reintegration.
Treating service members and veterans with cognitive, psychological and psychosocial impairments is critical for promoting the overall health and well-being of the military. Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines are increasingly returning from the combat zone with symptoms and problems, at times difficult to detect, related to war. Prevention and identification are key to advancing behavioral health treatment.
IDGA’s Military Healthcare Behavioral Health Summit provides a unique platform for military and non-military healthcare professionals to convene and fosters the joint development of strategies to standardize care for service members throughout the continuum from pre-deployment to reintegration and post combat.
